Directions to the hotel
From Airport: Follow signs to point Loma, turn right on Harbor Drive, 1 mile to Nimitz Blvd, turn right at the light for Nimitz, turn right at the next light on 209 Rosecrans, go two miles, turn left at the light for Hancock Street and go 1 block and turn right on Greenwood Street.
From Arizona - 8 Freeway: Take 8 freeway heading West then exit 209 Rosecrans, turn right at the 1st light on Hancock Street, go 1 block, turn right on Greenwood Street.
From Los Angeles Area - Take I-5 Freeway heading South all the way to San Diego then exit on 209 Rosecrans, take a right at the first turn on Moore Street and the hotel is on the right side on Greenwood Street.
From Mexico - 5 Freeway: Take 5 heading North then take Pacific Highway exit. Left turn on Rosecrans Street then right turn on Hancock Street and right turn on Greenwood Street.
From Las Vegas - 15 Freeway: Take 15 South then 163 South then I-8 West then exit Rosecrans Street (209). Turn right on Hancock Street then turn right on Greenwood Street.

Your 2015 LAHS Reunion Committee cordially invites you to enjoy San Diego Oct. 8-11 2015 for the 26th Annual LAHS Reunion! Woo-Hoo! The time is drawing near for this annual 2015 Reunion -- it's just 5 weeks away -- so if you have not already made your reservations, please do so soon.
We are excited that we have booked a great hotel in a great city for our reunion, and now we need YOU! Our special rate of $95 a night is valid from Oct. 5 through Oct. 14, so you can come early and stay late. (The website reunion reservation link will say rates are just good Oct 8-11, but that's just boilerplate they apparently can't change and it's not true. Also Wi-Fi and parking are included for our group)

From the airport you take a free airport shuttle to the Hotel, and there are enough locals driving into town that you really won't need a car at all. It is walking distance from the hotel to the San Diego Old Town with its shops and restaurants and also to the Transit Center with Amtrak trains from all the way up the West Coast, and also local San Diego city trollies and busses. So, if you are coming down the coast, consider taking Amtrak. If you think that two way Amrtraking might be too much 'training' for you, then just go one way via train and fly the other way. (We did that on a trip to Santa Fe a few years ago and loved it)
Of course we all come to a reunion to spend time with each other, and there is lots to enjoy in the area and we will be organizing ride-sharing mini-tours that we can all do together to local attractions like the Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum, The San Diego Zoo, Sea World, The Safari Park, and Balboa Park that you can enjoy together with your friends of old.
For planning purposes a tentative day-by-day plan might look like this, but of course everyone if free to do what they want when they want:
*Wed Oct 7: Arrive, socialize, try to remember everybody's names <g>
*Thurs Oct 8: San Diego Zoo Safari Park (about an hour away - we'll carpool)
*Fri Oct 9: Balboa Park (museums and people-watching and San Diego Zoo)
*Sat Oct 10: Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum (I have a friend who will arrange a special group tour for us} and then the traditional Sat. Alumni Night Dinner, probably in Little Italy if we can find a good deal there.
*Sun Oct 11: Picnic and Wine tasting at local or Temecula Vineyards
*Mon Oct 12: Depart, HappyHappyHappy, and planning for next year!
